Rob graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours in 1991 before moving to perth in 1999 completing his advanced Plastic Surgery training in WA and Victoria in 2000. Thereafter he completed 2 years of Fellowships in paediatric craniofacial and hand surgery in WA, the Pulvertaft Hand Unit in the UK and Cork University Hospital, Ireland.
He is a past Chairman of the WA regional committee of RACS, the immediate past Head of Department, Plastic Surgery Unit SCGH, past President of the WA Society of Plastic Surgeons and is the WA representative to both the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons Ethics Committee and the RACS International Medical Graduate Committee for assisting with pathways to Fellowship.
He is the recipient of the RACS Special services award, the Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship award for services to the community and 2 time winner of the Leibinger Registrar's Research award.
He is a member of the Australian and American Societies of Plastic Surgery and the West Australian, Australian and British Hand Surgery Societies. He performs overseas foreign aid trips and is a senior Plastic, Hand and Microsurgeon at SCGH. He has accreditation at SJOG sites, the Mount, Hollywood and Cambridge day surgery.
His main interests are general plastic surgery, skin cancer and melanoma surgery, dupuytren's contracture, hand arthritis, endoscopic and reconstructive hand and nerve surgery, cosmetic surgery and breast and body contouring post massive weight loss.
