It affects 10–15% of the general population and approximately 50% of PAD patients are asymptomatic; leading to under-diagnosis and under-treatment of the disease.\nThe most common symptom of PAD is intermittent claudication (IC) affecting the calf muscles\, which may be present in as few as 10% of patients.
